Hook & loop tape · OEM / ODM source factory

Custom hook & loop tape — adhesive-backed, sew-on and reclosable.

Reusable, repositionable fastening for mounting, bundling and access panels. We coat our own acrylic adhesive onto nylon hook-and-loop and mushroom-head reclosable fasteners, then slit, die-cut and convert to your spec — rolls, strips, coins or custom shapes.

Hook & loop tape, made to order

Fastening you can open and close — again and again.

Hook-and-loop tape joins two mating faces — a field of tiny hooks against a soft loop pile — so parts hold firm yet pull apart by hand and re-close hundreds of times. Add our acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive and it mounts to metal, plastic, glass, painted surfaces and tile with no drilling and, on most surfaces, no residue.

Need more holding power? A mushroom-head reclosable fastener uses interlocking stems on both faces that press together with an audible snap — same face mates to same face — for roughly five times the tensile strength of standard hook-and-loop. It still re-opens up to around a thousand times, so it works as a hidden, screw-free fastener on panels, trims and access covers.

Own acrylic adhesiveWe coat our own PSA — tack, temperature and removability are tuned in-house, not bought as a stock laminate.
Reusable & residue-freeOpen and re-close repeatedly; lifts off cleanly from most surfaces when you need to reposition.
Slit & die-cut to shapeAny width, plus coins, squares, strips and custom kiss-cut parts on a liner for fast assembly.

How it’s built

The anatomy of a hook-and-loop closure.

A self-adhesive closure is a pair of mating tapes — a hook face and a loop face — each on a nylon backing, with our acrylic adhesive and a siliconized release liner so the roll won’t stick to itself. A mushroom-head fastener replaces the hook + loop pair with a single interlocking stem pattern that mates to itself.

Release liner — siliconized, peels away at application (self-adhesive types)
Acrylic adhesive — bonds the tape to your surface
Backing — woven / knit nylon (PO or PET on mushroom types)
Engaging face — molded hooks, loop pile, or mushroom stems
Mating tape — the opposite face it locks into (same face on mushroom)

Choose the right fastener

Three things that decide which one you need.

01 · Hold

How much pull do you need?

Standard hook-and-loop suits light-to-medium, frequently-opened holds. When you need screw-like strength or to replace mechanical fasteners, step up to a mushroom-head reclosable fastener — several times the tensile and shear.

02 · Surface

Stick to a surface, or sew to fabric?

Adhesive-backed types mount to metal, plastic, glass and painted surfaces — clean with isopropyl alcohol and let the adhesive dwell. For textiles, choose sew-on. Pick permanent or removable adhesive depending on whether you’ll relocate it.

03 · Environment

Heat and fire matter

Ambient mounting uses a standard grade. Near heat, choose a high-temperature grade (to ~120 °C). For switchgear, EV / charging, rail and server rooms, specify a flame-retardant grade.

Engineering notes

Specifying a reclosable fastener.

A few rules of thumb our engineers use when sizing a mushroom-head reclosable fastener. Send your load, surfaces and cycle count and we’ll specify it for you.

Stem density & strengthAvailable in several densities (commonly ~170, 250 and 400 stems/in²). Higher density locks harder and releases harder; lower density re-opens more smoothly.
Mix densities for reuseFor a reusable join, pair different densities. Mating two of the highest-density faces creates a near-permanent interlock that can tear stems on removal.
Engagement area vs loadRule of thumb for long-term static load: ~4 in² of engaged area per pound (≈57 cm² per kg). Size the strip or coin to the load, not just the footprint.
Application pressurePress firmly — a uniform ~15 psi (≈1.06 kg/cm²) helps the adhesive wet out and grip. Pressure, not time, sets the initial bond.
Cure / dwell timePSA strength builds after application — about 50% at 20 min, 90% at 24 h and 100% at 72 h. Let it cure before loading.
Alignment (cross-web)To tolerate placement error, make one face slightly larger, or cross two strips at 90°, to keep full engagement despite small offsets.
Stress & failureTensile and shear hold best; peel and angled cleavage cause most accidental release. Add a tab, recess or edge protection where peel is likely.
Low-profile / self-matingA thinner, high-density self-mating version suits visible or low-clearance assemblies; it mates only to itself, not to standard densities.

General industry guidance for design — confirm densities, loads, pressures and cure times against the specific product and your own testing.

Buyer FAQ

Hook & loop tape questions.

The things buyers ask before ordering. Don’t see yours? Send it with your spec.

What’s your MOQ for custom hook & loop tape?
MOQ depends on the type, backing and whether the size/adhesive is custom, but it’s low for a source factory — tell us the type, width, format and target quantity and we’ll confirm the exact MOQ with your quote.
Can I get free samples first?
Yes. We ship free samples so you can test the hold and the adhesive on your own surfaces before committing — request them with your spec and we’ll send the matching types.
Standard hook-and-loop or mushroom-head reclosable — which do I need?
Use standard hook-and-loop for light-to-medium, frequently-opened holds. Choose a mushroom-head reclosable fastener when you need much higher strength or to replace screws on panels and covers — it gives several times the tensile and shear.
Will the adhesive hold on plastics and painted surfaces?
Our acrylic PSA bonds well to metal, glass, most rigid plastics and painted surfaces. Low-surface-energy plastics (PP, PE) and powder-coated or textured surfaces are harder — they may need a primer / adhesion promoter or an LSE-specific adhesive. Send a sample of your part and we’ll recommend the right adhesive, or a sew-on option.
Adhesive-backed or sew-on?
Adhesive-backed mounts to hard surfaces with no tools; sew-on is for fabric (bags, apparel, covers, straps). If you need to relocate it later, ask for a removable adhesive.
Do you offer high-temperature and flame-retardant grades?
Yes — heat-stable grades rated to around 120 °C for hot zones, and flame-retardant materials for switchgear, EV / charging, rail and server-room cable management. Tell us the temperature and any fire rating you need.
Can you die-cut coins, squares and custom shapes — or back-to-back straps?
Yes — we kiss-cut coins, squares, strips and custom shapes on a liner for automated placement, and supply self-engaging back-to-back (one-wrap) straps for cable bundling.
Do you offer private label / OEM?
Yes — your logo, core, liner print and packaging. We supply OEM / ODM for distributors and brands worldwide.
What’s the lead time?
Samples typically ship within a day or two; production lead time depends on quantity and type and is confirmed on your quote.
How much stronger is a mushroom-head reclosable fastener than hook-and-loop?
Roughly five times the tensile strength, and it stays strong through about a thousand open/close cycles. Standard hook-and-loop is the better choice when you need many thousands of lighter cycles; the mushroom-head type is the structural, screw-free option.
How much engagement area do I need for a given load?
As a rule of thumb, allow about 4 in² of engaged fastener per pound of long-term static load (≈57 cm² per kg). Tell us the load and orientation and we’ll size the strip or coin and recommend a stem density.
How should it be applied for full strength?
Clean the surface (isopropyl alcohol), then press firmly — a uniform ~15 psi helps the adhesive wet out. Bond strength builds to about 90% in 24 hours and 100% in 72 hours, so let it cure before applying load.
What information should I send to get a recommendation?
Tell us: the two surfaces (or fabric), the hold / pull you need, how often it will be opened, whether it must be removable, any temperature or fire requirement, and the width, format and quantity. With that we’ll recommend a type, send free samples and quote.
